Zonal Fluid Phase
PhaseTrace is polymer rods with embedded oil and water tracers. By sampling and analyzing produced fluid these tracers will provide information about flow from a zone and which phase.
These data will continue for years, until the tracer rods are depleted.
The rods are integrated into the completion string, either in the screen or otherwise in a tailor made carrier on the pipe. These data can be provided at a low cost because no intervention is necessary, just sampling.
The polymer rods can be produced in any geometry to fit the screen or carrier. Typically between 3 to 6 zones are monitored in a well. However, if more zones are needed many more unique chemical tracers, both oil and water, are available.
Longevity will depend on factors like temperature and production rates. In most cases 5 years if reached.
